Optimus Prime & The Autobots at the Manila International Auto Show!

04.16.2010 - If you haven't been to this year's Manila International Auto Show you must be stuck in a cave, and just raving about the toys you had recently acquired. One of the few true Transfans must be ecstatic about this year's car show. Vince Nunez our man was at the MIAS 2010 event with fellow bloggers, who made a coverage and was making everyone envious when he spotted Bumblebee at the Chevrolet display minus the racing stripes.

He also saw a Generation One Autobot named Jazz parked at the extended custom display section all white with those exact racing stickers. There where a lot of cars on display as well as hot babes standing by for a photo op.

Most notable cars on the show room floor are the Chevy Camaro, Ford GT40 (Binaltech Rodimus), and the Porsche (G1 Jazz). Subaru has the latest Impreza but its no longer familiar as the 2003 model, that looked like Silverstreak.

Cars and babes mix altogether plus thrown in some true blue TransFans then you got yourselves a kick as meet-up. This year's theme is Taking Motorists Into the Future and definitely this show is not only for TransFans, but as well as those who has the affinity and love for cars.

Addressing that need is the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), an annual venue for car buyers and enthusiasts to take a closer look at the latest models and significant concepts from the Philippines’ premiere auto makers. The 2010 show is scheduled from 15 to 18 April at the World Trade Center, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City. Manila Auto Show’s sixth year is expected to fortify its standing as the most all-embracing auto show in the country with this year’s theme: “Crossing Boundaries.”

The MIAS is the best venue to get good deals while looking for the ideal car, a convenient venue where people can immediately compare and contrast their prospective purchases. Exclusive auto loans sponsor PS Bank will offer some of the best deals for car buyers who want to purchase their new vehicles on the show floor. An annual venue for car buyers and motoring enthusiasts, it also hosts separate competitions for custom and classic cars as well as custom and classic motorbikes. MIAS is the Philippines’ biggest motor show in terms of visitor count, cars on display, and exhibitors – a world automotive exhibition held every summer since 2005. If it runs on diesel, gasoline, unleaded, biofuel, electricity or even a hybrid --it’s sure to be there.

It also serves as an educational venue for children interested in the workings of automobiles –and parents who are auto enthusiasts often take them to see Russ Swift, a precision driver known for his tight J-turns and meticulously planned stunts. The second-generation solar car produced by DLSU (SIKAT) is also on display, along with other noteworthy exhibits: vintage vehicles, 20 to 25 big bikes on display, a party van/bus, classic and new-generation Mini Coopers and Chevrolet’s Cruze Touring Car. There will be the MIAS Custom and Classic Car competition where the Best of Show winner gets tickets for two to go watch the Malaysian Formula 1. There will also be a custom bike competition, as well as a photo competition by Nikon.

So if you got nothing to do this weekend come drop by the Wold Trade Center. Entrance fee is only PhP50.00 pesos and you get to see Optimus Prime too.

The Real Bumblebee Sighted.

1.22.2007 - This past weekend after seeing Beowulf on IMAX I thought about going to the last day of this year's Auto Salon 2007 held at the newly built SMX Convention Center.

The venue was held at all four halls at the ground floor of the convention center. Attracting visitors generating a buzz, that this is one of most festive car shows this year.

Most notably what was the most surprising sight of that day was seeing a reall life Bumblebee classic camaro. The one depicted in this year's hottest movie by Michael Bay.

Parked in the far corner of the convention center away from the lights & glamor of the center stage. This `78 Camaro doesn't need any introduction.

The Transformers movie has hit the theaters and the endless pimping of merchandise has begun. That having been said, get a load of the Beatmix Bumblebee.

The Transformers Electronic Beatmix Bumblebee Figure is coming from another planet to interface with your iPods and MP3 players, and when he does, there will be plenty of dancing! This little guy will remix your music and get down to the beat, transforming your tunes into a mad remix that would make a DJ proud. (Or at least, a very young DJ proud.) Why settle for non-dancing toys when this one is going to make your day all the more fun
I thought the Autobots came to Earth to wage war against the Decepticons. Apparently they just wanted to pop and lock on the dance floor.

I finally got the chance to get my hands on one and I decided to make this MTV just for kicks. I just can't let the latest star of my desk space go unnoticed. I'm such a sucker for toys & gadgets!

Btw, the speaker's aren't that great. There's no treble or bass control and you can only change the volume levels from your music device. So don't expect to spend countless hours listening to you MP3 player on this. It's also battery operated only without any AC to DC adapter socket option. However, what I find really cool is the manufacturer's attention to detail and paint job. Personally, despite the Mascot-Sized head proportions, I think this is the most movie-accurate toy version of Bumblebee. The sound recording and mixing is a pretty cool feature in addition to the toys dancing capability. If you're looking to impress your friends with a nice Desk Space Display...you'd probably wanna check this out!

Go see the Bebot MTV I made featuring my beatmix Bumblebee.
