Review: TransFormers: The Official Movie Prequel #2

Genre: Comics & Graphic Novels
Author:Simon Furman & Chris Ryall
The image “http://images.transformersph.multiply.com/image/2/photos/upload/300x300/RgxSGwoKCr4AAF16ImM1/tfompi2_variatcvrs400.jpg?et=u1%2BDaVjSP8s9HEoKdztRvg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

TransFormers: Official Movie Prequel Comics #2 continues where the sold out issue one left off. Megatron follows the life giving Allspark in the deepest darkest part of space, which was jettisoned while six remaining Autobots delayed his plans to take it.

This issue has more dialogue than action. I can't say why but as the first few pages sees Megatron making it to our planet as early as we thought. Again you wont' notice Don Figeuroa's art, and the story now revolves on the humans. There first encounter with the terror that will rocked the movie in July.

Enriching develpment of the story was right here in issue two. Now we know why the war is here and you'll have to read the comics.

Teletran Reports...

1.) Ancestors of the Witwicky family could be traced way back in the 1890s.

2.) Who's Mega-Man?!

3.) Now we know who destroyed that rover from Mars.

Overall I'd suggest better pick up the comics `cause by June 2007 after the prequel comicswill be the adapted movie, which will be released an issue each week.

Synopsis say... Cybertron! A wholly metalic planet populated by robotic beings given life and "spark" by an energized Allspark of unknown origin. These sentient mechanoids existed in a state of peace that was ultimately shattered when one of their own sought to prossess the Allspark for his own sinister purposes. As civil war overtook the planet, robots fought passionately on both sides, seeking either protect or possess the life-giving Allspark. Now, all that stands between the malevolent Megatron and The Allspark is a cadre of six intrepid Autobots...

TransFormers: Official Movie Prequel Comics #1 is a must want to any TransFan who wants to know the bigger picture of the movie before the big screen date of 747. The first issue was mostly mixed plot taken from previous TF comics, but regular Pino TF fans they'll get theidea right away. The art work is was dark and never expected to see Don Figueroa's work to be this different from his previous works.

Simon Furman & Chris Ryall writes the story in planet Cybertron about the war. Major characters in the upcoming film, where fleshed out like Bumble Bee and Megatron. The story where a little bit leaving you puzzled what the war was all about. After reading it for the second time you'll get the idea.

The first few pages are scenes of war where in between them are past conversations with Bumble Bee and Optimus Prime what really is the machine of the six Autobots fighting there life to protect this so called Allspark.

Teletran Reports...

1.) You'll get to know the reason why Bumble Bee plays different kinds of sound in the upcoming film.

2.) All Sparks the life giving is the one everyone wants..

3.) The story tells more about just the action in the upcoming movie.

Overall I'd suggest get this comics imediately while supply last. You'll get the entire idea why there here, and why there war continues in a our world without giving you the whole bacon.

TransFormers new movie poster

here's ya go guys! courtesy of AICN

you can click on the image to download the large version of the one sheet.
after I saw this, I got a glimpse of that Optimus Prime looks like a Knight,
but then when I saw this article - TransFormers : Good Knight vs. bad
they say that it is really a knight!

The writers of the new Transformers movie thought of the shape-shifting robot characters as giant, mechanical knights.

So it's fitting the first images of Optimus Prime and Megatron — the posters go online Wednesday — reveal armor and faceplates that look medieval by way of Star Wars.

"We always modeled Optimus Prime after King Arthur," says Alex Kurtzman, who co-wrote the film with Roberto Orci. "His design (from the '80s toys and cartoon) was so iconic we couldn't make too many changes."

Transformers opens July 4, a release date generally set aside for movies expected to be summer blockbusters.

Kurtzman and Orci worked on TV's Alias, Mission: Impossible III and the upcoming Star Trek remake directed by J.J. Abrams.

FIND MORE STORIES IN: Paramount Pictures | Transformers

While doing an uncredited rewrite on Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds, the director, who is executive producer of Transformers, talked them into crafting the script for the warring-robots adventure by Michael Bay.

The writers said the concept of alien robots who are able to change into ordinary-looking Earth vehicles was an intriguing premise. A darker parallel to contemporary times: The robots destroyed their home planet in a war over energy.

"The Transformers as a race are sentient emotional beings, and they share our characteristics," Orci says. "They arrived on our planet when we face similar kinds of wars and are able to say, 'We are not that different from the humans.' "

Prime (voiced in the movie by original cartoon actor Peter Cullen) is the leader of the Autobots, protector robots from the alien planet Cybertron, where mechanisms evolved into living beings.

On Earth, Prime changes from a robot into a thundering big rig to disguise his identity. The smooth curves of his red, white and blue façade suggest a kind of solid comfort.

In contrast, his nemesis Megatron — a fascist politician on his home world whose motto was "Peace through tyranny" — has a jagged, colorless metal face with a covering that suggests the exposed jaw of a skull or insectlike pincers.

The Matrix's Hugo Weaving will voice Megatron.

"He's very dangerous-looking," says Kurtzman, noting the character had a more humanoid face in the cartoon.

The writers don't want to reveal yet what machine Megatron becomes.

But the gun that Megatron used to transform into had to go. Says Orci, "That would be the equivalent of Darth Vader turning into his own lightsaber and someone else swinging him around."

Optimus Prime contacting us !!!

Yes thats true! and thanks to Shawn of http://www.transformersfans.com/ for providing the recorded podcast of this mysterious information sender, calls himself Agent X, which Shawn decoded it by decresing the pitch to 50% level and it reveals that Optimus Prime is the one called Agent X.

just visit here at http://www.transformersfans.com/

and go to the Sector Seven - Agent X is Optimus prime

there are 4 recorded podcast of Optimus Prime having an information campaign about the governments secret
about this character called Megaman (which we know he is Megatron) and Optimus Prime said that many lives have been lost in protecting this kind of secret, I guess that Optimus Prime beaten Megatron during their war here on Earth and trapped Megatron on Ice for good. But my guess is that when the US government retrieved Megatron out of the ice, a terrible danger had come to Earth, as the podcast said, more of its allies will come to Earth in order to destroy our civilazation, and said that other civilization far away from our planet is important too, I think they were refering to Cybertron.

Optimus Prime announces to stop his enemy, he called it Sector seven, im not sure why.
maybe that the decepticons had taken over the Sector Seven and also the US government to retrieve Megatron and help them destroy the Autobots and get the allspark from Optimus Prime **

I dont know how we can help Optimus Prime, but i hope this blog post can help all of us.
we are in grave danger fellow Transfans!

Hugo Weaving as the voice for Megatron

Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith in Warner Brothers' The Matrix
Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith in Warner Brothers' The Matrix - 1999

Mail to Friend Email Photo

NO OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE YET ABOUT HIS VOICE ACTING

the website Sectorseven.org had finally revealed the voice actor for Megatron, every TF fans had waited for months for the official press about this, but I guess that Frank Welker wont make a show in the movie, I just hope that the protoform version will be Hugo and the Megatron earth form will be Welker. Hugo Weaving is popular in every sci fi and fantasy audience, he acted as Agent Smith for Matrix, Elron for Lord of the Rings, and the V character for V for Vendetta.

Well, Im a little bit curious on how will they pull it off, I guess that the voice will be more different from the cartoons. check out our past post about Optimus Prime radios humans, They've enhanced the robotic voice for Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) the sound is much more bigger than we know in the Generation 1 series. While we hope that the voice of Megatron will be more alien and evil than Welker's voice.

Hugo Weaving to voice Megatron in Bay's Transformers?

There's a new email available on the SectorSeven.org website which can be accessed with the password NBETWO. The message alludes to actor Hugo Weaving (Lord of the Rings, The Matrix) being cast as the voice of the evil Decepticon leader Megatron in this summer's upcoming Transformers movie from Michael Bay, Paramount and Dreamworks.

--------------------------------------------------

From: S7 Department of Network Security
Subject: Counter-Information Campaign
Date Received: Mar. 23, 2007 21:14(MST)
To: Agent Alexander Powers
CC: Agent W. Snup

Operation: Hungry Dragon 2 continues. As of today, Agent H. Weaving has officially convinced S.S., M.B., R.O., AND A.K. to assign him to oversee the Megaman issue. The recording will commence immediately.

All the years of investment into Agent Weaving's public persona have finally paid off. He will monitor the campaign from the inside and report on its progress free from suspicion.

By this summer, the population will think N.B.E.S. are nothing more than a figment of someone's overactive imagination.

Our power lies in our secrecy.

--------------------------------------------------

Hugo Weaving first made it big with his role as Agent Smith in Warner Brother's blockbuster Matrix trilogy starring Keanu Reeves and Hugo Weaving. He also gained further popularity after playing the role of the half-elf Elrond in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy. One of Weaving's most recent roles was that of V in the movie translation of the political V for Vendetta starring Weaving alongside actress Natalie Portman.

The references to Agent Weaving above is a reference to Weaving's role as Agent Smith. "Megaman" is the name the humans give the frozen Megatron in issue #2 of IDW's Transformers Movie prequel comic book series. The abbreviations from the email are as follows:

S.S. (Steven Spielberg)
M.B. (Michael Bay)
R.O. (Roberto Orci)
A.K. (Alex Kurtzman)

It is unknown at the time of this post what the "N.B.E.S." acronym stands for. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

Michael Bay says 102 days left

:source:

"Almost a 100 days left. I guess I should start posting every week? I've been working my ass off - the cut is really coming along -the shots ---awesome. Some of the most difficult renders in ILM history. Sometimes up to 38 hours per frame. The Show West thing was fun to see the scenes play in a 1000 person house. But they just saw 25 minutes so it is hard to feel engaged because they are not seeing the full run of a movie. Harry called me to tell me how he loved it. I see all the dickwad talk back people who claim they have read a finished script. Impossible - I kept the only draft for the last two months before shooting. That's where did major retooling to the script - yes the scene beats are similar but a very different script. We are still writing the robot voices. They talk about just 20 minutes of action at the end - yeah right. This is by far the most action I have ever put into a movie - I have 12 huge set pieces. Boy I get tired of these lame cry babies on the net. "
