Cartoon Network and their plans for the Philippines

AFTER showing positive growth in 2007, kid’s channel Cartoon Network (CN) revealed its plans for the Philippines in 2008 that will include the introduction of several new shows as well as a relaunch of its localized website.
Turner Entertainment Networks Asia general manager Soumitra Saha described their growth in the Philippines as phenomenal as over 80 percent of children watching cable TV are tuned in to CN, with their target market tuned in for an average of 44 minutes per day.
Saha attributed their success to strong content, which they have continued to localize for the Philippine market.
For this year, the company will be introducing a slew of shows, under a new slogan “Todo na Toons.” New cartoons are “Class of 3000,” “Naruto,” “Ultimate Muscle,” “Skunk Fu,” “Chowder,” “Ben 10,” “Fantastic Four,” and “Transformers,” among others.

Transformers Collectors Club Exclusive 2008
The 2008 Transformers Collectors' Club FREE Membership Figure has been revealed as "Topspin." This is the forth figure in the five figure Club Combiner series.
Any Transformers Club member who is joins or membership is active by March 16, 2008 will receive this figure FREE in the late spring/early summer. It appears the tcc exclusive topspin is not made out of "energon" like the three previous figures.

Transformers Classics or now known as HenKei "Transform"! Transformer series, the initial 6 figures reported previously will be releasing in Mar, D-03 Astrotrain will be plan for Apr release and C-05 Hot Rodimus will be releasing in Jun. On display were also the package concept. Beside the main difference for D-01 Megatron and C-01 Convoy, other figures will have color differences as well, like Starscream and Grimlock will have chrome parts.

Transformers Animated coming soon in the Philippines
I just read a news at the blog of K-zone magazine's KA BLOG! and they got some info about the Transformers Animated to be shown on Philippine Cartoon Network, It seems that our local are now starting to market the new animated tv series and my prediction is that it will be in the next coming months ( hear that? - months... with "s" hahhaha)Cartoon Network didn’t give us an exact date for the premiere. We’ll tell you as soon as we find out.
im a little excited on this, and despite that I'm too lazy to download episodes on the internet, I'll just wait for the local airing of the Transformers Animated. If I'm a little excited on the show, expect me to be hyper when the new toys comes in hehehehe.

it was a shocking booth design that Bumble Bee is at the Consumer Electronics Show 2008 in Las Vegas, at engadget.com this was categorized a Best-Worst booth of CES 2008, for me, if you will put a gigantic Transformers robot in your booth, that will be the best and kick ass booth ever!

Warner Bros. Pictures and IMAX Corporation jointly announce that Warner Bros.' highly anticipated sci-fi thriller "I Am Legend" starring Will Smith will be shown at the IMAX Theater at the SM Mall of Asia starting Jan. 8, 2008, simultaneous with the film's opening on the same date in conventional cinemas across the Philippines.
"I Am Legend," which recently opened in the U.S. to a record-breaking $77.4-million, will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience.
Preceding each IMAX screening of "Legend" will be the six-minute prologue of the new Batman film, "The Dark Knight" starring Christian Bale. The featurette shows "Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan and director of photography Wally Pfister talking about shooting scenes in IMAX for the anticipated "Batman Begins" follow-up opening on July 16, 2008.
Will Smith in "I Am Legend"
In the U.S., "I Am Legend" opened strongly, with most shows sold out at IMAX® theatres during its debut weekend, contributing $3.2 million of the record-breaking $77.4 million that the film grossed at the domestic box office, from December 14 through Sunday, December 16. The picture opened on 77 domestic IMAX screens, posting a per screen average of $41,936. "I Am Legend" also opened on 6 international IMAX screens, bringing the worldwide IMAX estimated total to $3.4 million.
"This marks the biggest December opening in not only motion picture history but IMAX history as well. We couldn't be more thrilled," said Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures. "We're delighted to be able to offer fans of Will Smith and this classic sci-fi thriller two exciting ways to experience the film throughout the holiday season."
"Combining a highly successful, time-tested science-fiction story with the talents of Will Smith, Warner Bros. Pictures and the power of The IMAX Experience® is why these results are so fantastic. Back in Manila, Warner Bros. also announces that the latest trailers of "The Dark Knight" and the new Roland Emmerich epic "10,000 B.C." will likewise be attached as added attractions to "I Am Legend" in regular cinemas.
