Azrael Coladilla, Tuesday, June 16, 2009
Its a 2 year in a making for this video hahaha, just kidding, I just got in touch with a contact person 2 years ago and since that I failed to do an interview with Mark Ryan right after the Transformers movie, I'm glad that all is not too late and I got him a video interview and message that I showed to all convention goers and Transformers fans at the 8th Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention 2009 at the SM Megamall. Everyone clapped their hands and showed their appreciation for Mark Ryan, and happy to see that he is part of the convention even only in a video message.

How Do You Celebrate 7 Years?
TransformersPH, Sunday, June 07, 2009
06.07.2009 - Transformers Philippines was founded yesterday seven years in the original Yahoo Groups mailing list. It was a thriving group from the start. It was a word of mouth after the very first Toy Con that was held in the old Conference Hall, which was in the month of October 2002.
Back then it was literally a Toy Con exhibitors, where just selling stuff and getting merchandise auctioned. There was no cosplay and there was a structured program just selling.
If you look at it back then things where not that wild the following year. You could say we started in the simple things. We where part of the journey and you know who you are being part of this group. Nobody predicted what will happen in the course of seven years to see how found are identity.
We realized that BEING A FAN IS NOT equals to TOY COLLECTING. This hobby is just secondary, and its doesn't need a rocket science to tell you how we are passionate. It just goes to show you true fans has unlimited imagination, and its not based on the plastic hardware you accumulate. This group was built in friendship and its not made of materialistic things.
Some kid out there doesn't own an action figure, but one can tell you by heart how he or she tells the story of one episode in a big way.
For those years we witness the changes since the first movie came out. We rarely see a true fan be as passionate one can be. Its rare to see fans who doesn't make the hobby there life, and never get too redundant to make a point.
BEING A FAN IS BEING TRUE TO YOURSELF ON WHO YOU ARE. For seven years we never take short cuts on being here. We just express our love for the mythology and just talking about anything related to Transformers.
BEING A FANS IS NOT A BASIS OF JUST ONE THING... TOYS. When you look at it some would argue that its the basis for being a fan. But that's not how others think. For the sake of argument you analyze it by yourself and see the difference.
FANS have there own lives so we don't take this hobby too seriously. We don't make a career out of this hobby because it will ruin the fun. The reason why we got interested in the first place.
Unfortunately in reality we can see a lot of that, but who cares right?
We are FANS and we live our life outside from this, because this hobby is just another way to relax and get away from the rough reality. We enjoyed this when we where kids and up until now some would say the movie was not the one they expect.
Its already 2009 who would like to see a 1984 cartoon turned into a live action film. Things change and that's the only thing that stays permanent. We let the future decided and we guide to control that future.
So how to do you celebrate seven years BEING THE FIRST AND ORIGINAL FAN GROUP?
From the beginning up to now we celebrate as good friends, and toast a glass to BEING A FAN. We enjoy and seize the day, aside from the constant changes that are permanent. We found out who are our real friends, and who'll be valued in the future.
REAL FANS WHO HAS THE HEART. THAT'S WHO WE ARE. NOT MACHINES.
